Step-1: Firmware download

  • After finding that the router is compatible with DD-WRT, visit the official DD-WRT page from the web browser.
  • If you do not have an account, then create one. Enter the router model number to find the suitable firmware.
  • Choose any one flash file format from these options: .CHK, .IMG, and .BIN.
  • Download the DD-WRT firmware and save it on your computer.

Step-2: Router connection

  • Connect an Ethernet cable between the router’s LAN port to the computer.
  • Plug the router’s power plug to the socket and turn it on.

Step-3: Firmware installation

  • Launch the web browser and enter the router’s IP address then press Enter to go to the router’s admin page.
  • Type the router’s username and password and click Log in.
  • Click the Advanced tab, select Administration, and choose the Router Update menu.
