Fix Netgear Router Won'T Send Wireless Signal

It gets really annoying when you really need to use the network, but the Netgear router Won't send wireless signal. There might be several reasons for this connection issue:

1. Restart the router

  • Turn off your Netgear wireless router. Connect the router and the computer using an Ethernet cable.
  • Open a web browser on your computer and visit the router login page by entering its IP address or login URL.
  • Use the correct username and password to log in to the router setup page; by default, the username and password are admin and password, respectively.
  • When the router setup page opens up, select the Advanced menu and go to the Router information section.
  • Click Reboot and wait until the router reboots.
  • After that, disconnect the Ethernet connection and enable the wireless network. Try connecting the computer to the network wirelessly. This is the initial process to solve your Netgear router Won't send wireless signal problem.

2. Press the Wi-Fi button

  • Find the Wi-Fi button on the Netgear router. If the Wi-Fi is not turned on, press the Wi-Fi button for 2 seconds.

  • Now, press the button again to turn on the network and check the indicator light; if lit, the network is active, try connecting your device to the network.

3. Turn on the AP mode

  • If you are using the Netgear Router as an access point, you have to enable the access point mode on the Netgear router.
  • After the router-computer connection, launch the browser application and visit the router login page.
  • Input the username and password to access the router’s configuration page.
  • In the Advanced panel, choose the Wireless Settings menu.
  • Under AP Mode, tick the checkbox of Enable AP mode and fill in the necessary information.
  • Select the Apply button to save the changes.
  • Connect the Netgear router to the main router via an Ethernet cable.
