Procedure to set up TP-Link Archer C58:
Step 1: Unpacking the router
Initially, unpack the product box and take out the router and the other accessories.
Remove all the packing materials.
Place the router in a central location so that it is away from sunlight, moisture, etc., and is easily accessible without any interference.
Step 2: Connect to the internet
If your ISP has provided you with an Ethernet cable instead of a modem, then connect the Ethernet cable to the Internet (WAN) port on the router.
If you have a modem, then turn off the modem first.
Take an Ethernet cable and connect it between the modem and the WAN port of the router.
Now, connect the router to a power outlet and turn it ON.
Step 3: Connect to a computer
Use another Ethernet cable to connect the TP-Link router to your computer.
The cable should be connected between the Ethernet port on the computer and the LAN port on the router.
If your computer supports Wi-Fi, then turn on Wi-Fi and connect it to the router’s Wi-Fi. The SSID and network key of the router are available on its label.
Step 4: Configure the router
Open a web browser to access the web-based utility of the TP-Link router.
Type http://tplinkwifi.net in the address bar of the browser.
In the login page, enter the default username and password of the router and click Login. You can use admin as the username and password.
Now, click on Quick Setup and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the TP-Link Archer C58 router setup.
However, if you wish to configure the internet connection manually, then go to the Basic tab and click Internet.
Select the connection type and enter the required details provided to you by your ISP. This will complete the setup.
Step 5: Create a guest network
Go to the Advanced tab.
Select Guest Network and go to the Wireless section.
Turn on 2.4GHz wireless or 5GHz wireless.
Enter an SSID and password for the wireless network and save the changes.
