Step 1: Unpacking the router

  • Initially, unpack the product box and take out the router and the other accessories.

Step 2: Connect to the internet

  • If your ISP has provided you with an Ethernet cable instead of a modem, then connect the Ethernet cable to the Internet (WAN) port on the router.

  • Take an Ethernet cable and connect it between the modem and the WAN port of the router.
  • Now, connect the router to a power outlet and turn it ON.

Step 3: Connect to a computer

  • Use another Ethernet cable to connect the TP-Link router to your computer.
  • The cable should be connected between the Ethernet port on the computer and the LAN port on the router.
  • If your computer supports Wi-Fi, then turn on Wi-Fi and connect it to the router’s Wi-Fi. The SSID and network key of the router are available on its label.

Step 4: Configure the router

  • Open a web browser to access the web-based utility of the TP-Link router.
  • Type in the address bar of the browser.
  • In the login page, enter the default username and password of the router and click Login. You can use admin as the username and password.
  • Now, click on Quick Setup and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the TP-Link Archer C58 router setup.
  • However, if you wish to configure the internet connection manually, then go to the Basic tab and click Internet.
  • Select the connection type and enter the required details provided to you by your ISP. This will complete the setup.

Step 5: Create a guest network

  • Go to the Advanced tab.
  • Select Guest Network and go to the Wireless section.
  • Turn on 2.4GHz wireless or 5GHz wireless.
  • Enter an SSID and password for the wireless network and save the changes.
