What 192.168.100.1 means on a local network

192.168.100.1 is commonly used to display modem signal, channel or connection status. On many networks it is not the default gateway given to clients and may not provide ordinary router configuration.

Open 192.168.100.1 safely

  1. Connect through the router or directly to the modem as supported.
  2. Enter http://192.168.100.1 in the address bar.
  3. Look for status information such as downstream, upstream or online state.
  4. Use the router's separate gateway address for Wi‑Fi names, DHCP or port forwarding.

Why this address is different
