Router administration pages let you manage wireless, security, and internet settings inside your local network.
Find the correct gateway
- Windows: open Command Prompt and run
ipconfig; look for Default Gateway. - macOS: open System Settings → Network → Details → TCP/IP.
- iPhone/iPad: Settings → Wi-Fi → tap the network information icon.
- Android: Wi-Fi → current network → network details or gateway.
Sign in safely
- Stay connected to the router.
- Enter the gateway directly in the browser address bar.
- Use the administrator password, not necessarily the Wi-Fi password.
- Log out when finished.
Do not share credentials
A legitimate information page does not need your router password. Enter credentials only into the local router interface you intentionally opened.
Local access and Internet access are different tests
How to Log In to Your Router can involve the client-to-router link, the router's management service or the upstream Internet connection. Reaching the admin page does not prove the WAN is online, and browsing the Internet does not guarantee that local administration is enabled.
Use a three-step check
- Confirm the client has a valid local address and gateway.
- Test access to the gateway or supported app/controller.
- Check router WAN status and then DNS.
Temporarily remove VPN or proxy interference when testing local management.
