The RT6600ax is a tri-band Wi‑Fi 6 router. Check the label and any hardware or regional identifier before using firmware, recovery instructions or screenshots intended for another product.
How this product is managed
The RT6600ax uses Synology Router Manager (SRM), a desktop-style management environment with routing, traffic and network-profile controls.
Why the RT6600ax needs its own guide
SRM can intentionally separate devices through network profiles and policy. A reachability problem between two local devices may come from segmentation rather than a failed radio.
Setup sequence
- Complete the SRM installation and WAN setup.
- Create the primary network and administrator account.
- Add extra network profiles or segmentation only after the base LAN works.
- Test wired and wireless clients before enabling traffic policies.

When one device cannot see another, inspect the networks, profiles and firewall rules assigned to them. When throughput changes, review traffic control, Safe Access or VPN features before blaming the Wi‑Fi hardware.
A mistake to avoid
Do not factory-reset the router for a policy problem that can be identified in SRM. Export or record the configuration before making major segmentation changes.
Verify the result
After any change, repeat the original test instead of relying only on a successful save message. Check the upstream connection, one wired client where applicable, and the affected wireless or managed device separately. Record the setting that changed so it can be restored if the result is worse.
