Editorial Policy

How Router-Setup.com plans, writes, reviews and updates technical guidance.

Our editorial process is designed to answer one question: can a reader complete the task safely and verify the result?

Primary-source research

Product roles, ports, LED states, firmware files, button timing and menu paths are checked against manufacturer manuals and official support pages. Community reports can reveal recurring symptoms, but they are not treated as a substitute for documented product behaviour.

Instruction standard

A complete guide states what is required, preserves settings that may be needed later, gives steps in dependency order, explains the expected result and includes a branch for failure. Reset is not used as a generic first step.

Model and revision control

Where firmware or reset instructions vary, pages tell readers to verify the model, component role, hardware revision and region. Router and satellite firmware are never described as interchangeable.

Reviews and commercial content

We distinguish a feature-analysis guide from a tested product review. Scores, awards or performance claims must not be published without a documented test method and evidence. Affiliate relationships, if introduced, must not control editorial conclusions.

Automation and human responsibility

Software may help check links, metadata, repeated wording and structured data. It does not replace factual review. Pages must add user value and may not be published merely to cover another search phrase.

Correction process

Reports are checked against primary sources. A meaningful factual or procedural change updates the guide and its review date. Minor typography changes do not justify presenting an article as newly researched.
