1. Prepare the modem and router

Connect the WAN port, join the printed network and open router.asus.com or the detected gateway.

2. Open the guided setup

Use Quick Internet Setup to detect the WAN connection and enter ISP VLAN or PPPoE details if required.

3. Configure Internet and WiFi

Set separate administrator and wireless passwords and apply current ASUSWRT firmware.

4. Place and connect mesh units

For AiMesh, update every compatible unit, reset the node if necessary and add it near the main router.

5. Verify and document the setup

Test Internet speed, local access and every important room. Save the administrator address and configuration backup without storing passwords publicly.
