Independent guide · Updated for 2026

Menu labels and LED meanings can vary by model and hardware version. Keep the product label and official manual available while following this guide.

1. Identify which devices are affected

If the Home app cannot find a point, confirm Bluetooth, local network and location permissions and move it closer.

2. Check Internet and local login

Restart the modem first, then the Nest router, when the whole network shows offline.

3. Restart the network in order

Bridge mode and mesh capabilities are limited in some topologies; avoid double NAT where possible.

4. Update, reset or restore carefully

Factory reset only the affected point when re-adding it, unless the entire network must be rebuilt.

5. Escalate model-specific faults

Record the model, hardware version, firmware, LED state and tests completed before consulting the official support channel or ISP.
