1. Prepare the modem and router
Connect the first Velop node to the modem and complete setup in the Linksys app before adding child nodes.
2. Open the guided setup
Add each child node while it is within reliable range, then move it to the intended room.
3. Configure Internet and WiFi
Use open, elevated positions and avoid placing nodes directly beside large electronics or inside cabinets.
4. Place and connect mesh units
Choose bridge mode if another gateway must keep routing and DHCP, otherwise allow Velop to act as the primary router.
5. Verify and document the setup
Test Internet speed, local access and every important room. Save the administrator address and configuration backup without storing passwords publicly.
